Church Multiplication

Developing churches that multiply themselves

More Than Church Planting

Church multiplication encompasses more than traditional church planting. The Penn York District recognizes multiplication through various forms, organized into three categories for strategic unity and support.

Multiplication Pathways

1

Disciples Multiplying Disciples

Missionaries engaging in disciple-making, focused on entering into relationships with people to help them trust and follow Jesus through obedience-based discipleship.

2

Gatherings Multiplying Gatherings

Discipleship groups and multiple services that incorporate formal elements aligned with Wesleyan Church ecclesiology, connected to existing churches for support and accountability.

3

Churches Multiplying Churches

Formal church planting initiatives that meet Wesleyan Church essential ecclesiology requirements, started with autonomous church goals and multiplication planning.

The Mobilization Flywheel

Movement along the multiplication pathway is visualized through the Mobilization Flywheel, demonstrating how disciples, gatherings, and churches work together in a continuous cycle of growth and multiplication.
